E-mail is one of the most popular, widely used Internet services and basic application among emerging interactive TV services. It gives IPTV subscribers an opportunity to operate with IMAP4 enabled e-mail boxes via web interface on TV-screens with infrared or virtual STB-keyboard.
This application can be used jointly with such services as TVShop and TV Banking enabling service providers to request for confirmation, send mail notifications, etc.

Porting: Practically any browser with JavaScript support can be used. Practically any STB with enough processing/memory capabilities and web browser can be used.

| Basic STB requirements: |

- minimum 600K RAM;
- embedded modem, Ethernet-connector or feedback cable jack;
- IR-keyboard (recommended) – virtual keyboard available;
- TVMail application is designed to operate with standard IMAP4 e-mail servers, customization to client server is provided on request;
- DOM supported web-browser.
